Career

Katie Morley is the Telegraph's Consumer Champion. The Katie Morley Investigates column appears every Saturday and Sunday, and deals with a wide range of consumer problems from fraud, insurance that won't pay and mortgage issues, to rogue landlords, holidays gone wrong, and faulty goods.
​
In 2019 Katie won back £1.3 million for members of the public. Individual wins ranged from £10 to £382,000.
​
Previously Katie was the Telegraph's Consumer Affairs Editor, during which time she broke a number of agenda setting exclusives including a £40m repair charge scandal at Europcar, the Help to Buy Isa scandal, and the National Trust's 'airbrushing' of Easter.
​
Katie has also previously written for the Financial Times, where she wrote a column about Millennial finances, the Guardian, and Investors Chronicle magazine.
​
She worked with ITV Tonight onscreen to provide advice to consumers on childcare costs, retirement, and inter-generational finance.
​
She appeared on BBC's the One Show in a segment called 'Who saves Wins', in which she saved households in Wales over £1,000 in a matter of hours.
​
She is also a regular guest on Sky News, BBC News, ITV News, Radio 4, and LBC.

​Katie grew up in the North East and lived there until the age of 18, when she moved to London to study at University College London.
